Covered Up
מסכת פאה | Rachel Elitzur | Israel, 2018 | Hebrew (English subtitles) | Documentary | 52m | IMDB | Distributor/Sales: Go2Films | Festival marketing sample: DocAviv 2018 | Trailer
Description: Filmmaker Rachel Elitzur, a divorced ultra-Orthodox woman, struggles with the halakha strictures to cover her head. Elitzur is filmed with her parents, sister, friend and a Rabbi with whom she consults on the issue.
Merits: Elitzur, and the individuals she interacts with are sympathetically and sensitively treated. It is hard not to empathise with her struggle to satisfy her parents and society. The interaction with the one secular character, a hairdresser, is a particularly moving and poignant scene.
Rating: Suitable for all audiences.
